Located in the pseudo-historical period created by the author, called the Hyborian Era, the adventure a young and inexperienced Conan pursues a nymph through the frozen snow of Nordheim. Originally written as a Conan story, but when rejected by Weird Tales magazine editor Farnsworth Wright, Howard rewrote the story, renamed the main character to "Amra de Akbitana" and renamed the story "The Gods of the North" , but even so the count was only published for the first time after his death. This edition also includes the essay A Era Hiboriana and the poem Ciméria.

The Elephant Tower is one of the original stories written by the American author Robert E. Howard, with the protagonist the character Conan from Ciméria who lived in the pseudo-historical period of the Hyborian Era. The story tells of the events in which Conan infiltrates a dangerous tower to steal a legendary jewel from an evil sorcerer named Yara.
Due to his unique ideas about the Hyborian world and atypical elements of fantastic fiction, mixed with influences from the cosmic horror of HP Lovecraft, the story is considered a classic of the Conan tradition and is often cited by Howard scholars as one of his best writings . This volume also features the short story O Deus na Urn, another classic and sinister adventure by young Conan.
