I've just finished reading the four-part story. I have mixed feelings to say the least. It's not bad but not great either. The storyline itself is okay but I enjoyed much more the adventures of Gideon Cain, an unofficial pastiche of our favourite Puritan. What disappointed me the most with C. L Werner's take on Kane is the atmosphere. Somehow I felt as though he did not capture Kane and his world. It's difficult to explain and I guess many people will disagree with me :-)
