I saw a true REH fan make this comment out on the webz:
"Ever since I set my Amazon Smile charity to the Robert E Howard Foundation, I don't hate Amazon so much!"
That's a very cool idea and one I hadn't thought of.

Lee Breakiron asked me to pass this along. If there are any suggestions from my fine fellow forumites, I'll make sure they get to him: I’m working on the text of the next REH Foundation Newsletter and am soliciting any news items for it. If you haven’t enough material or time for an article of a page or more, shooting me a few sentences would provide me with more fodder for the Letter from the Board, not to mention recognition for yourself, e.g. “I was on a fantasy panel at Thus-and-So Convention. We talked some about REH’s contributions to this-and-that.” Anything in the past year is fine. Thanks! For those who don't know, Mr. Breakiron is an excellent REH scholar and a tireless chronicler of the history of Howardian fandom. You can check out his latest chronicle at REHeapa here: robert-e-howard.org/NemedianChroniclers23VE17.pdf

Any news on future books/ projects on the horizon? I noticed that the two-gun raconteur website seems to have gone, and the REHFP website is rarely updated so it's all pretty quiet out there. Bit alarming really, reminds me of when the Howard boom of the 1970s/1980s faded away. At least with the internet now it shouldn't get quite as desperate. Or so I thought...

I also wondered about Conan.com's archiving. Any news on that?

Bit alarming really, reminds me of when the Howard boom of the 1970s/1980s faded away. At least with the internet now it shouldn't get quite as desperate. Or so I thought... It's hard not to feel a little concern about the condition of REH and the Conan brand these days. No news, beyond the old familiar rumors, of a movie. No presence in other media beyond the Conan: Exiles game, which has drawn attention for its "genital physics" rather than for any connection it might have to Conan and the Hyborian Age. No official web presence for a year and a half. The comic, the last dependable bastion of the brand, has been limping for a while and now looks suspiciously like it might be on hiatus. When was the last time we heard anything official from the people who own Conan? The popularity of the dark and gritty fantasy of Game of Thrones has reached critical mass. It's what the whole damn world watches. It's water cooler conversation at every workplace in the USA. I know people who'd never touched fantasy before who hang on the details of every episode. And in this environment Conan has all but disappeared. Doesn't seem right.

Surely this is what the Foundation is meant to avoid? A larger presence online seems to be a must in this day and age. Thinking about what the chthulu lives.org site manages to do for HPL. You know, merchandise, dramatisations etc.

Just got word that the next volume from the REH Foundation Press will be Pictures in the Fire: Remaining Weird Tales and Esoterica. No idea about the ToC beyond the rough guide provided by the title. There is also a new edition of Post Oaks and Sand Roughs in the works.
