First project is to do some illustrations for The Tomb of Ykarhu by Von K. I've finished the first one and posted it on Tumblr, having some trouble figuring out how to post images in the thread (pasting in a link to the http:// location doesn't seem to work for me... not sure why.) "A great dark warship lay at anchor..." The first illustration can be found at: doctorvince.tumblr.com/post/631368594121441280/illustration-for-the-tomb-of-ykarhuComments and critiques are welcome.

Hi doctorvince, tumblr is a membership site so we can't see any images you post there unless we're logged in as members. I don't think most of us have a tumblr account. There used to be an option here to upload attachments in a post on the forum but it looks to have vanished. You may be able to get instagram to work better with images for non-member viewers? Seems to work for Zarono. Another suggestion is loading the pics to a more publicly accessible image host. Perhaps try one of these: www.techradar.com/uk/best/best-image-hosting-websitesFlikr, Imgur and Imagebam look like good options. Maybe Char-Vell, Zarono or one of the mods can offer more suggestions. I'm really looking forward to checking out your latest fan pics.

Hi Doctorvince, I took the liberty of posting it on here for you, the way I do it is to left click the image on the site I want to post then click open in new tab, then I copy the image url and paste it in the image button on the forum. Works most of the time. Hope this helps!

That's an awesome pic doctorvince, superb style and execution, plus I like the skillful way you captured all the many elements from the opening into a single splash page scene. Fantastic!
One thing you might want to do is to put your name and or logo and website link discretely on each pic so everyone knows who created it. I mean in the eventuality that it gets posted to another site. I saw one of your Belit pics from the old forum on a Conan page on Pinterest awhile back.
Hopefully Zarono's posting method will work for future pics, but just in case I think it's time for me to finally sign up on tumblr.
Thanks for posting your work doctorvince, and thanks for the help Zarono.

I swear to you that the technique you describe is exactly what I did, when using the image button on the menu bar the image did not appear in my post. I tried posting it and then wound up deleting that attempt. Anyways, thanks so much! I'll give it another shot when I get ready to post my next drawing :-) -doctorvince

Only thing I couldn't work in was the crimson pennon. :-) I started the next illustration for the opening of chapter 2 - wish me luck! -doctorvince

Thanks for posting that one - Red Nails is definitely one of my favorites, probably because of the strong impression made on me by the Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith adaptation. Cromsblood really did some very nice color work over my pencils! I also thought that the image size might be part of the problem I had posting my first drawing from The Tomb of Ykarhu, but really I don't know what's going on. Some progress on the second drawing but not yet ready to share. -doctorvince

Yeah, it seems that only Zarono knows the secret of how to get those images to show.
Looking forward to your next pic.

Here's another of your older pics doctorvince, the Belit one which somehow found it's way to pinterest:
Looks to have been classified as postmodern art for some reason.

Great illustration, doctorvince! Thanks Erik - while I am very happy with it, I'm going to take another shot at the rigging because it just isn't right. I don't want to be overly 'authentic' but... yeah. Not sitting well with me. -doctorvince

I drew that with an actual pencil, my new stuff is all iPad and Apple Pencil - it's interesting to see how my style has adapted. "Postmodern art" - sure, why not :-) Hey - you got the embedded image to post! Magic! I'm putting finishing touches on the second drawing for Tomb of Ykarhu. Should be up this week - maybe I'll be able to get it to work this time! -doctorvince

But as an artist myself, I totally understand the need to go back and fix something that just isn't right. Minor things like that that most people wouldn't notice tend to bug ya after awhile.
