Of course, there was the classic Conan & Elric crossover, also illustrated by BWS.

There's also the Conan - Solomon Kane crossover in issues 219-20 of SSOC. By Roy Thomas and Colin MacNeil.

Is anyone else astonished that Dark Horse did not do a predator crossover with Conan? They had the rights to Conan for so many years, and its not a terrible crossover idea. Would have been pretty cool, especially if they got Truman to write.

They had some respect for the character. That's why they did not do such a thing. Conan crossovers are always over the top. Not proper for a character like him.

Regarding respect, they did a Wonder Woman crossover ... and don't forget Groo, which was not nearly as bad as it sounds.

Yeah, I get what you are saying and agree with you. But in this case, it just seems so strange to me that they didn't do it. Arnold portrayed Conan for two films(which are rather iconic now) and was also the main star in Predator. It's such an obvious crossover waiting to be done, and Dark Horse had the rights to both characters for a very long period of time. It's not the worst idea for a crossover.

Groo made sense with regards both being barbarians as such. With the WW cross-over I wonder if rather than being an idea from DH perhaps the Conan people suggested it as a tester for moving the character there before it went back to Marvel.

Its been a while since I read it, but I remember it being fun and not as ridiculous as it might sound. If I remember correctly, it was almost like a What If or imaginary story as it was told from Groo's point of view and he had suffered a head injury. Again, if I remember correctly. It was done deftly enough to not go over the top.

Conan for me is a very singular character and should not be crossed over with other characters. He has his own world and fits only in it.

Given the current state of mainstream comics, a solo Conan series is probably doomed for mediocre sales at best after a few issues. But given the success of Savage Avengers, perhaps Conan Crossovers are a viable commercial avenue?
I would have liked to have seen a Conan/Hellboy and Conan/Tarzan...

I wouldn't at all mind a Tarzan or John Carter crossover.

Have Conan travel to the post apocalypse future and cross over with Thundarr.
