Thank you sir. I have the 1962 movie and it is pretty good. Have not seen the 1936 though, to the best of my knowledge.

The Paperback & Pulp Book Fair will be at the Royal National Hotel in London on Sunday morning. Good opportunity to pick up those REH, ERB and Harold Lamb paperbacks or if you're really lucky an original issue of Conan in Weird Tales for £20 well you never know Hun, you going? This would be awesome. I'm looking for the Pedigree Books publication of Burn Witch Burn if you happen to see it! Yeah, I'll be there. I'll have to fight through the Marathon runners to get across the river - should be no problem for my Hunnic warhorse I'll keep eye out for this edition, nice cover.

Feed him some whiskey infused oats, and give him his head, Hun! Hope you come across that Pedigree. We'll work something out involving hard funds and American whiskey!

This is probably the best thread for this sad news, but word is going around Facebook from reputable sources that James Bama has passed away at the age of 95, just 4 days shy of his 96th birthday on 4/28. I think we all know him as the Bantam Doc Savage cover artist, but apparently he had quite the career as a western illustrator and also illustrated artwork for the Universal monsters model kits.

I was just digging through my paperbacks and found all my old Doc Savages, he gave those books as distinct a look as Frank, Boris and Ken gave to theirs. I loved those old monster kits. I remember back in 1972 when I was in pre-school, a store on Park Avenue in Rutherford had all of them in their window and I had to be dragged back with the class when we were talking a walk and I just stood there staring in the window. Lived a long life and left a mark, can't ask for more than that.

Yes, he did pass away last Sunday. At the Doc Savage Con in 2016, they had a video hookup from his home, and we got to watch and listen to him tell his stories. The guy was hysterical and also incredible. He was doing several hundred pushups, sit-ups, working the heavy bag, and then walking the half-mile or more out to his mailbox EACH DAY into his 90's!!!!
