Ive read most of the great pulp writers and IMO the second best after Howard is Ross Rocklynne (outside of detective pulp where there are quite a few masters) Rocklynne writes great old school adventure stories with a nice mix of Modern hard sci fi added

Pulp Serenade tends more to the "Western" and "Detective" sides of old-school pulp, which are most likely the markets REH would've been shooting for in the '40s and '50s. www.pulpserenade.com/

One doesnt hear a lot about Otis Adelbert Kline but I am reading Port of Peril, one of his Venus novels and it is really excellent...highly imaginative and never a dull moment. I am really enjoying it and recommend it. Lots of interesting alien races and the King of the Frog people is a hoot
