Should you prepare her with Arnold's comment: Boy, I sure got laid a lot in this picture. "So, there's some sex for sure, but it's on par with the naked-er Game of Thrones episodes..." The witch borders on Spartacus, but that should work!

There were quite a few people in the theater for my showing tonight. More than expected. I estimate about 30.
Going from watching this on the small screen only to the big screen I noticed a couple of details that I didn’t notice before. The main one being when they enter dooms fortress I noticed the rack of human bodies that they used for parts in the soup. Apart from that and the tree of woe scene seeming to have more detail, I noticed a couple more Hyborian Age she-devils.
Was hoping against hope that we’d get some sort of foreword or post credits announcement from Malmberg about the Conan series. It would have reached a lot of ears, but since this was a Universal film, I doubt they would have allowed announcement of a Netflix project, even if there was anything to announce at all.

It was awesome seeing this again on the big screen, was 15 when it came out. There was 14 of us who went, and only four other people there besides us. Had the theater to ourselves.

Going from watching this on the small screen only to the big screen I noticed a couple of details that I didn’t notice before. The main one being when they enter dooms fortress I noticed the rack of human bodies that they used for parts in the soup. When the guy poured the cannibal soup and the young woman plucks the hand out of it and bites off the end of the finger... my wife laughed, which... yeah, it was kind of funny. Cool seeing it on big screen. One thing the theater really makes apparent is the weird audio/music mix. The soundtrack is big and forward, but the sound effects, dialogue etc really varied across the runtime.

Unfortunately, can't watch it on the big screen here in the UK. But, it is on right now at ITV4!

Are there any stories that detail what happened to Subotai after the 1982 film?

I think Milius wrote an ending scene that was ultimately cut where Conan and Subotai go their separate ways after Conan returns to the princess to Zamora. As for possible sequels, the original Thomas & Conway draft of Destroyer killed Subotai off on page six, and I've heard but can't confirm that Stanley Mann wrote a draft where Subotai was in it instead of Malak and died halfway through. None of the Conan 3 stories that have turned up have addressed the character at all.

That’s disappointing. Subotai was a much better character than Malak.
He was very loyal to Conan to the point of crying for him at Valeria’s funeral. Him parting ways with Conan seems out of character. He also didn’t deserve to be killed off so early. I imagine most of that was due to the likeness of Gerry Lopez and him not being in the sequel.
Glad none of that is part of any canon. Would love to see the character inserted into the next comic chronology. Wouldn’t even have to change that much or how they met; just ignore the film events from after that point.

I think the problem was that Gerry Lopez was a close friend of Milius, and wasn't interested in doing another one without him. Then again, Milius didn't even address Subotai in his Crown of Iron script, and I don't really know why.
And I don't think Thomas and Conway were terribly interested in staying consistent with the first movie. They introduce Conan pit fighting, after he had already given that up, don't really address any of the events of the first movie, and didn't seem to realize that the city Conan and Subotai visit was supposed to be Shadizar.

Watched this movie for, I would say probably about the fifteenth time with my girlfriend a couple weeks ago. She watched the whole thing with interest. I think she was expecting the battle at the end of the orgy scene to be the end, but then there was the final battle on the hill and the decapitating of Doom. My impression of her experience, seeing that movie for the first time- the music helped keep her interest as well as the dirty, imperfections that you just don't see anymore. Also, the movie is just great, with little dialogue, especially in the beginning. I pointed out to her- how many movies today have a fifteen minute scene with zero dialogue with minimal action of any kind going on (talking about Conan crawling around in the cave/ruins where he find his sword after being set free- the music in that scene is so perfect too). Later that night I told her that she was of the "finest stock," and she laughed.
Then, I nailed her hard with unconcealed relish.

Sadly missed. Pressman really worked hard getting the cinematic Conan to the screen. Created a body of great work throughout his career.

I found this excerpt from Milius' first draft of Apocalypse Now. It's pretty close to Thulsa Doom's final line in CtB:
For context, Milius' ending is very different to what ended up on screen. Kurtz and Willard team up to fight an NVA assault on Kurtz's compound.
