Hola REHers. I've worked my way through all the old Howard Days youtube videos, and now starting over on my Conan readings (or more often audiobook listenings) by matching with the 4 year old Cromcast episodes for each story. And that is why I initially sought you out. The Cromcast guys often mention posts from learned authors they found in the Library of Epemitreus. I believe they are referring to the since-deleted forums on what is now conan.com. Wondering if those posts will ever again see the light of day?

Hey Mojo! Glad you found your way here. Regarding the Old Forum, whether the archived posts see the light of day is up to Cabinet/CPI. We've had no recent word on that.

thank you kindly! I'm not enough in the know to guess at who Cabinet/CPI is? Oh, Conan Properties Inc? Do you feel like the scholarship posted there is available elsewhere? For instance, the Cromcast guys referenced Dale Rippke's Conan chronology, which my google-fu uncovered -- found it not only well thought out but also just entertaining to read. Would like to follow up on other such fandom interpretations, ya know?

Welcome Mojo, The old forum had reviews of nearly all the REH Conan yarns and pastiches, plus commentary from the members. There are still some great reviews out there on the interwebs though. One good initial place to start might be the Black Gate Discovering Robert Howard series: www.blackgate.com/category/discovering-robert-e-howard/Lots of great articles there, and Howard Andrew Jones and Bill Ward's Conan re-read review series might be of interest. They cover all the yarns with some insightful commentary.

The old and new Cimmerian blogs have plenty of Howard-centric material: leogrin.com/CimmerianBlog/thecimmerian.com/Also, just browse around the forum. Lots of REH-related links as well as original content.

Hi all! I'm a long-time fan of the Conan films (and Red Sonja) and am slowly but surely making my way through the wonderful stories of REH and the Conan (and Red Sonja!) comics. Peripherally, I am a MASSIVE Frank Frazetta fan, as well as many other fantasy artists, and a soundtrack enthusiast for whom Basil Poledouris' Conan OST was a seminal listening experience. Happy to be hear to share the love for REH.

... Basil Poledouris' Conan OST was a seminal listening experience... Absolutely! I've watched it several times on Youtube. Man - to have been in that crowd and seen that live would have been a high honor indeed. Glad to have you aboard SwordsOfREH, Idril. Best, Chris.

Yeah those live performances on youtube are wonderful. I dream of seeing an orchestra perform this album live.

Hello everyone and thanks very much to the Mods for the add.
My name is Paul and despite what my moniker may suggest, I hail from the Emerald Isle.
My first encounter with Conan was when my mum bought me the first issue of the Hyrkanian War story arc in the old CtB Marvel Comics, Hawks from the Sea. Was completely blown away and have loved the whole Turanian thing ever since. A great pity that it wasn’t a Howard story of course. Still, it pointed me in the right direction and when I found Almuric and King Kull sitting on the shelf at my local library, my absolute love for the Sword and Sorcery genre and Howard’s writing was born.
I think that my favourite Howard book is probably Sowers of the Thunder. I picked it up in a second hand bookstore years ago for about a pound sterling and that tatty old tome still has pride of place in my collection. Shadow of the Vulture is a wonderful tale and of course, it has the links to the comics I mentioned at the start of the post.

I have always liked it in Turan: very warm, plenty silk and veils, and lots of harems for me to decieve and rob rich men. I like your avatar. I use that big helm as a breastplate. I only wear them when i feel in fighting mood, or at one of King Conan's special parties. -- >>>> and a warm WELCOME to all other new members who have finally got the bottle to join. Well done everybody. Now keep posting, and have a good moan when you need to let off some olde steam? [ my editing of your nice avatar was just for fun. no disrespect intended ]
