Greetings Dog Brothers and Sisters,
After a long journey to the wastelands of the internet, I have returned. Nice to be back in the fold.
Looking ahead to some exchanges with the forum members.
Thank you for implementing this testament to the works of 2 gun Bob.

Hi, celebrating my 10th anniversary as a fan of the genuine true Conan this year after 'discovering' the character in 2007! I was fully aware of Conan from the Ahnuld films, and it was those self-same films that put me off Howard's creation for a very long time. I'm a huge fan of Tolkien and have been since reading The hobbit at the age of 9, but never delved into the written Conan until i was (surprisingly) lent a copy of the video game from THQ by a friend. He followed through with passing me the Dark Horse adaptation of The Frost Giant's Daughter, and i've never looked back. My Conan and Howard collection now spans reading copies in paperback of his complete Conan tales, the Del Rey editions of Conan, Bran Mak Morn, Solomon Kane, and Kull, with a 2/3rds complete collection of the Dark Horse graphic novels, sidestepping the questionable Queen of The Black Coast arc. I followed development of the 2011 film, still preferring it to the 82 flick for trying to stay closer to Howard, and have been following the graphic-novel line and anything else that keeps Howard's pantheon of characters alive. Looking forward to interacting with you guys after you made the move from the forums at Conan.com

Hi, glad to have found a place like this!
My first awareness of anything REH was through the movies and an awareness that Conan was also a comic book hero. Some years back, I can't recall how, but think surely it had to do with Dungeons and Dragons research, I got interested in reading some Conan tales but was having a hard time finding them. Someone turned me on to Project Gutenberg which had a few of his public domain stories. I can't recall the first story I read but I recall being shocked at how amazing Howard's writing was. I'd bought, without realizing it, the lie that everything from the pulps were trash. Anyway, from there my search in earnest began and I discovered the Del Ray books and I've taken off from there. Now I have a modest collection of books, comics, pastiches, etc, and it keeps growing. I'm currently in volume 2 of the Howard/Lovecraft letters.
Glad to be among folks who share this passion.

Good to hear you found the true path, Deepermagic. The Del Reys are definitely the place to start for REH. If you're reading the REH/HPL letters, that means you've gotten serious. We cover lots of pulp fiction and the authors that wrote it here on the forum. Welcome!
