New episode, on John Boorman's The Lord of the Rings, is now up. Some good stuff there, KH! A pity that Boorman didn't tackle a Conan film. It would've been more within his reach on a technical level. Anybody who's listened to his commentary on Excalibur knows his instincts are/were there. Boorman and REH were both fans of many of the same things. The same really can't be said of Milius. Also, if Boorman had used the same cinematographer that he had for Excalibur, his Conan film would've looked much better. A great deal like the better episodes of Game of Thrones, actually. This is also the man who later made The Emerald Forest and The General, both of which--I would argue--contain Howardian elements. Boorman was filming bloody fantasy in Ireland long before it was cool.
