Has anyone read DH's Kull comics? I've heard mixed things.

Mixed is the right word. The Shadow Kingdom mini is the best of the three, but it goes in its own directions when it wants to (it has Kull married but still not really interested). The adaptation itself is pretty good. The Hate Witch mini is absolutely unnecessary and frankly a waste of four issues that could have been doing any other story (Tuzun Thune in particular). The Cat and the Skull is better than that, but it makes its own changes that don't improve the story. I blame editorial for not keeping the writers sticking to the material. If you can get the Shadow Kingdom & Cat & Skull minis on sale or the trades in a discount bin, I'd get them there and ignore Hate Witch.

The Hate Witch was pretty bad. I liked the art okay, and the design on the Witch was cool, but the story was nonsensical mess.

you know they tried to tie the hate witch with the bone woman. When the bone woman confronts conan she says "Heka la" was one of her aliases over the century.
In fairness it was said that humans fought the snake men and other beastlike species. Someone from one of those races being a bad guy could have been cool

I just finish rereading of the Hate Witch... Felling litle desapointed 😶 As much as the first time I was. DH comics (in my opinion) didnt done good job with Kull. Seems like they keep their concentration on Conan even when they do Kull. Like they were hoping that "this wil go" only because of the REH name on it. And what was the thing with that Rasta-Pict look? What a fan should do, I wonder...? Well, go back to Marvel's edition, I belive. Lets get startet then. 😎

I'll drop a bombshell. I did not hate the hate witch. I thought that the ideas of Kull returning to face his past in Atlantis was pretty cool. Heka-la was a downright nasty bad guy and making her the bone woman added connecting tissue to the main conan tales which I felt was a nice touch.
I didn't even mind Igraine. It's clear that theres nothing sexual (when we meet her she tries to seduce him into bed and Kull is completely uninterested) and having it NOT be sexual between a man and woman is.....refreshing. It's a business partnership overlapped with friendship.
The serpent people were not to terrible. I loved that they quickly go into damage control mode and work to distance themselves. Their pope even manages to duck having to answer the whole ka nama ka lejerama question by getting Kull angry. Plus he had an AWESOME mask. There's even a scene where he feeds a rabbit to his pet snake.
