Have been watching Samurai Jack 2017. It' pretty good so far; being on Adult swim really helped it out.

I cut out most of my regular TV watching last year, aside from Preacher, which I love, but is between seasons right now. I've started watching a few shows on DVD/Blu-Ray, though.
-Rome: I've polished off the whole series, and it's pretty great, with two great leads and a compelling approach to the historical material. The second season suffers somewhat from looming cancellation forcing the writers to rush through history in the last few episodes, but it's still good.
-Sherlock: Just getting started on Season 3 now, but I'm enjoying it on the whole. Cumberbatch and Freeman are both great, and the mysteries are usually very well written. That being said, some episodes are worse than others, and Andrew Scott is the worst Moriarty I've seen. He plays it like an unholy hybrid of Jacob Kell from Highlander Endgame and Droopy Dog. Shame, since the character is pretty well written.
-The Wire: I bought the complete series on blu-ray, and just finished Season 1. Holy hell, this is great stuff. Can't wait to see how they continue it from here.

I binge watched Stranger Things while taking a sick day Monday,It was quite good. count me in for the 2nd season.
I'm a big fan of Master of None and Samurai Gourmet as well.
I also rewatched the Thriller adaption of Pigeons From Hell. I like it quite well.

On season 5 of elementary (yes the sherlock reimagining with lucy liu); it's actually pretty good. The cases are well constructed, when they have twist endings they usually make sense and the characters are well rounded and likable. If you can get past the initial wierdness it's a damn good show

My daughter just got me started on "The 100", which is a show about folks in a space station trying to land and survive on a post-apocalyptic Earth after WW-III. Turns out that there are people there and they don't like the idea of fancy skyfolk trying to take their lands. Reminds me a little of Jerry Pournelle's "Janissaries" books.

I mostly just watch Lucha Underground on TV these days. I love the way it fuses Mexican and independent wrestling with grindhouse movies (it is on Robert Rodriguez's network after all), comic books, and video games.

Preacher has been excellent this season. Definitely better than the first season, I think. I still wish they'd follow the comics more closely, as the original stories were incredible, but the show is improving this season.

just been pausing it at some fave scenes: beautiful rendition of a stone henge.
the old brit queen: she is mostly all covered up, so they have put woad on her fingers. looks ridiculous, but no-one will notice?
is that mackenzie crook - bald druid at end? == just 1 minor point: if the ancient brits are using common english accents, then the romans should use a distinctly different accent, because they are the bloody fascist-like cruel foreigners. [ the roman leader sounds like a modern london gangster boss? ] just saying...
