Interesting, but I really do feel there's something not right about this. Anyone know if this really was a movie project?

There was a rumor about this script posted on conan.com a few years ago. My personal opinion is that it contains concepts that are too modern for 1934. In any case, the non-Howardian plot elements could be explained as the work of the screenwriter.

Ha! Rascally Roy Thomas fooled me at the time as well. He is "Piltdown" (the name should've given it away). The art is by Sandy Plunkett, I believe. I wish that Sandy would do some more REH-related work.

I was SOOO taken in by this at the time. I read it off the newsstand on Port Authority and couldn't believe it! Turns out I shouldn't have :-) Somebody did a similar one a couple of years ago about "Orson Welles' Batman" that seemed just on the verge of believability.
