Just watched the Revenge of Tarzan at the same Youtube channel, good fun. Even better than watching the Justice League

Hope ERB Inc. doesn't come down too hard. It looks like it could've been a story Burroughs wrote right before he shipped out for WWII, between the short stories and Foreign Legion. I noticed that credits said Tarzan owned by ERB inc and used with permission, I think that's really cool of ERB inc.

I saw that when I watched the video Hun mentioned. That is cool of them.
Acting could use a bit of work though :-)

I'd be down for watching this. I'm getting a Tarzan: the Epic Adventures vibe. I don't get turned off by supernatural elements in Tarzan like this.

Looks like a cheaper version of the 1998 movie "Tarzan And The Lost City" (which is actually not bad in a "B" movie/pulpy/direct to DVD kind of way), IMO more entertaining than The Legend of Tarzan (2016).

I’ve tried several times to watch Lost City but can never get through it. Maybe I’ll have to try again at some point. From the parts I saw, it tried to get it right but also tried too hard NOT to be Greystoke. LoT got the balance right for me, it’s odd how it almost works as a Greystoke sequel yet has a completely different backstory!

I didn't totally dislike LOT, but I felt Samuel Jackson (playing Samuel Jackson.....) was completely miscast and unnecessary, and he pulled me out of the "world" set up in the movie. On the other hand, I thought Djimon Hounsou looked totally bad-ass/imposing as the Chief (Mbonga) of the Leopard Men, but was completely underutilized. In my perfect world I would have dropped Samuel Jackson, had Mbonga be the initial villain, then have Tarzan and Mbonga have an uneasy truce to take down Rom (and give Rom some physically imposing henchmen, like Dave Bautista).

Not sure what to think yet. Any time the word 'reimagining' appears, I immediately fear the worst. But considering all the latest 'reimaginings' of Tarzan as modern eco-warrior have crashed and burned and disappeared without a trace, I'd hope Sony would learn a lesson from that. The fact Legend of Tarzan did not turn into a box office debacle should give them some ideas of where to go. We don't need another origin story, as much as I would love a good adaptation of the first two books, I get it. But Tarzan in the modern day just does not work. The 60s, maybe, but anytime after the 80s, no way. A reworking of Tarzan the Untamed and Tarzan the Terrible would give you war and dinosaurs, what a combo!

How about "reimagining" Tarzan by going back to the actual Burroughs character and stories. There are dozens of Tarzan movies and TV series yet just about the only adaptation that included the more fantastic elements of the original novels was "Tarzan: The Epic Adventures" starring Joe Lara. I would like to see somthing like that with 20 times the budget, a better screenwriter and a better actor.

They did botch the ending of Forbidden City though.

While I'm usually against origin stories, that's not the case with Tarzan. It doesn't have to be a long sequence but it does have to hit the high points. I'm thinking the beginning of Greystoke but with visual effects for the Mangani. Give me that, and I'm happy. I'll accept almost any second and third acts at this point. I already pair the opening of Greystoke with Legend of Tarzan.
