Yeah, I know. I won't shut up about this for anything. But check out the latest update from Howard Andrew Jones, called The Pledge of the Sword. It's a fiery, personal declaration of his passion for Sword and Sorcery, and an earnest pledge of dedication to editing a magazine celebrating the genre. These are words of iron. You do not see this kind of thing very often. Hi Emerald. Nice to hear your passion fired up. Men can pledge, swear on the necronomicon, promise the world...but some of us women dont believe a word of it. When a man eventually gets very bored, jaded, then that's it: its over. [ editing and promoting a new mag is damned long hard work ] >>>> Please post some reviews /ratings here, of the best new tales in issues 1 to 3? That may get me interested later? [ at present, i am very keen on new lovecraftian/cthulhu collections of short stories. i am having a blast reading lots of them. ] swords and sorcery vs cults and tentacles is of special interest to me.

Old-school S&S lives in the pages of this awesome magazine, and may it live forever! So very excited that enough people out there care about the genre enough to fund this magazine. Can’t wait to get my copy of issue #1.

Hi Docpod. Thanks for your review of the new mag. "The paper is pleasing to the touch when reading" >> is that something that you note in all your reviews? instead of rating the paper, it would be much more helpful to provide a simple rating for each tale, please? [ out of 10, or out of 5, please? anything so we can guage the overall quality of the tales ] do the tales seem too short? 84 pages is not much room for 7 tales + other bits?

I pleased to say that the third issue of Tales from the Magician's Skull has just been announced. And I'm even more pleased to say that I have a tale between the covers. But I am nearly slack-jawed with delight to tell you that the cover itself was painted specifically for the mag by fantasy art legend, Sanjulian. And it looks Grand. Check it out here... goodman-games.com/blog/2019/03/13/announcing-tales-from-the-magicians-skull-3/Maybe someone with more savvy than I can actually post the image on the board.

The Kickstarter for Tales From the Magician's Skull #3 and #4 is up and running here...
/description
I've already gone on about this project at length, so I trust you know how I feel about it. It is unique.
I'm very pleased to see that The Skull will become an ongoing magazine and that subscriptions are now an option.
Sword & Sorcery lives on.
