John Maddox Roberts on the difficulty of writing novel-length tales of Conan for TOR: Thanks Deuce, that's a fascinating interview from JMR, well worth watching all the way through. More about writing Conan and the changing expectations for book length in publishing from the end of part one through part two.

I recently picked up a few more of the John Maddox Roberts pastiches. I look forward to reading them--I think he GOT Conan better than any of the other Tor writers.
On a somewhat related note, I requested an ARC of Robert Jordan's previously unreleased "muscular fantasy" Warrior of the Altaii--the book that got him the gig writing Conan.
