A question about Conquest Press and REH

Does anyone have the story of how Conquest Comic Press got the rights to do 4 REH based comics back in 1991/1992?  Or were these unauthorized?

Not the full story, but at the time Marvel had the license rights for Conan, Kull, Solomon Kane, and Red Sonja (which is owned by somebody else these days), along with permissions for other adaptations (Bran Mak Morn, Almuric, etc.), but not the westerns or non-weird/Sword & Sorcery material. Conquest published the Barbarian Scroll fanzine, and all of the issues have "special thanks" to Glenn Lord, so they were (as far as I'm aware) licensed adaptations of material that was not licensed by anyone else for comics.
