Has anyone heard anything new on this topic? I haven’t been able to find anything new concerning publishing dates or authors...

Can you forward me it please? In short, no. Not to be impolite but that's a lot to ask for in one fell swoop. You've read my fanfics, at least, on the old forum, and I'm still grateful for the encouragement you sent me back then. Where is the best place to post fan fiction? Besides here, I've been using fanfiction.net , but it seems to be dominated by somewhat disturbing tales of Harry Potter and Pikachu making out and the like.

Check out the Official site for all the new licencing... www.heroicsignatures.com/No helpful or useful info there at all ! You have to email them and beg for licence info. email em and test their response to a serious enquiry? [ let us know their reply? ] [ maybe no very desperate book publishers have bothered to beg, yet? ]

Thanks Bux, though I believe that's specifically for game productions. Licenses would likely differ depending on each project?
Things are moving forward behind the scenes - the conan.com splash page is now a nascent website.
Darkman - best place for updates might be to keep tabs on the blog at blackgate.com, where Bob Byrne's upcoming interview with Fredrik Malmberg will likely be posted.

Cabinet Group’s joint venture with Funcom N.V.Cabinet Group LLC finalized a joint venture with Funcom N.V., a Norwegian developer, to establish Heroic Signatures, a new company holding and managing the interactive and video gaming rights based on the works of Robert E. Howard and classic Swedish pen & paper and board games.
The transaction, which closed on February 8, provides Funcom with a 50 percent interest in the interactive and video gaming rights in the intellectual property portfolio owned by Cabinet Group, which includes the well-known “Conan the Barbarian,” “Solomon Kane” and “Mutant Chronicles” properties. In exchange, Cabinet Group received shares representing approximately 6.45 percent of Funcom.

A question for anyone who is familiar with all the Conan pastiche material; do any of the Tor novels take place in or around Hyperborea, with Hyperboreans, AEsir or Vanir? To my knowledge, the only tale that comes to mind is Legions of the Dead, by deCamp and Carter. I'd like to take walk down that literary path...

Hi Darkman. >>>> see... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conan_of_Aquiloniathe 1st tale "The Witch of the Mists" by de Camp and carter, is set in Hyperborea. [ i quite enjoyed it, but tis typical tame and cheesy stuff by decamp: not enough grim horror or vicious action. a good idea semi wasted - typical decamp. [ all 4 tales are just average entertainment. and decampo reveals his mega-huge-arogance in the last tale when he squashes The very famous Howard-Sorcerer like a mere insect under the heel of his jackboot-quill: a disgraceful weak pathetic tame end for a great Howard-character. ] >>>> Also, JMRoberts had conan adventure north of the Vilayet sea, and below Hyperborea - in a cold bleak tribal land. Very well writ and good atmosphere with the grim conan of JMR. [ and there is a good weird-world section where Conan becomes absolutely ruthless v his very cruel powerful enemies ] Very grim Howardian Conan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conan_the_ChampionAll the books by Roberts are a must read. He is the very best pastiche writer [ along with Hocking ].

According to ‘A Probable Outline Of Conan’s Career ‘, the adventurous Cimmerian traveled back to his homelands and the North at least three separate times before he became king. Sounds like room for some AEsir/Vanir/Hyperborean shenanigans to me!

I tried to write a novel inspired by KEWs Day of the Lion synopsis. I create my version of that part of Conan's careere, done lots of research, character development, notes and posible outcomes... I got even a few pages and fragments of later chapters written. But, I never finished it. It awaits... Silently... To be revisited once again...

Will try to finish it. It'll take a lot of time cause it's a not-short-novel lenght project, but, who knows... Once, I give up 'cause I didnt think my idea is good enough. Maybe it wont end up bad after all...

Well, it’s been nearly 4 months since this was officially announced, and I have not seen a scrap of real, solid info since. We are waiting. Patiently. Sort of... If the new amazon conan tv series 1 is popular and ok, then we should see book publishers wanting to ride the same wave and grab some of the fan monies? til then it could be very slow news for new conan tales? [ i suspect the licencers are asking too much dosh? and only offering a 5 year licence? ] [ or maybe some publishers dont trust the *licence sellers*? *They* shot Mongoose in the back and revoked that rpg licence years ago: mongoose produced a very successful conan rpg [and many source books] and had great plans for more. [ i thought they were insane to kill the mongoose licence without sane reason. i felt really sorry for mongoose - they had done so well for us rpg fans. but then they thought the 'momoa film' was a good script [ + lost most of their money]. and then they murdered their own mega popular reh forum, and broke their promise to archive it. ] i understand: i have to bite my tongue. would you trust them?
