Disappointing but not a surprise at this point. I at least hope DH does a sendoff of some kind.

Not sure about how this will work out , yet another round of adaptations surely not , but will there be enough interest to sustain the title very long especially as Marvel seem in poor shape at the moment and they cancel titles very quickly these days. The other way would be to bring him more into the main MU and I certainly don't fancy that.

A nice hard-bound collection of the Roy Thomas run on Conan the Barbarian and SSOC would be a great way to start.
As for the new series, I'm a little apprehensive about Marvel's ability to reinvigorate the Conan franchise - but, if I'm being truly honest, I'm kinda pleased to hear that Conan has returned to Marvel.

I felt a surge of excitement upon reading this, followed by a wave of unreasoning dread.
What if they alter Conan to appeal to teen girls?
Valka, Honan and Hotath save us if they do.
Sucks to be Dark Horse. what do they have left as far as properties now? AVP?
hopefully they can put out some cool original stuff and stay afloat.

I hope they bring back Savage Sword, in the same format as before.
I do not want any crossovers with other Marvel characters, unless it's in a What If? type situation, or if they re-establish the Hyborian age ties to the Serpent Crown, Shuma-Gorath, Bloodstone, ect...

The new writers will have a ball. Don't guard the memory of Conan, effing do radical changes and enjoy him much more? Seize the future. Rock on Marvel! How big are your futuristic balls?

I'd like to see Marvel reprint Marvel's Conan the Barbarian in the Marvel Epic Collection series.
I've only picked up the early collections of Avengers, Captain America, Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man, Thor and the X-men for now. The reproduction quality is pretty good; the coloring is true to the originals and they're less cumbersome and cheaper than the Omnibus editions. It would be great to see the the classic art of John Buscema and Barry Windsor-Smith in this format.

I can see where you're coming from. Marvel do need to shake it up a bit, in order to appeal to a new audience. The first time round Marvel did a fantastic job adapting the original REH yarns. DH gave it a good go, but they eventually run out of steam. Marvel should not, under any circumstances start over again with Conan's early years in chronological order, again - it's been done before, twice now! That's enough! Marvel need to be different and make Conan comics exciting again

Cory Seidlmeier working on Conan Masterworks and Omnibuses. I don't need anything else.
As far as new stuff, I'd prefer they don't mix it up with the regular MU crowd. I agree, no need to do his whole life again. Hun's right, be different.

I hope they don't so any more adaptations. Just do original tales and set them at various points in his life.
And yes...no fucking crossovers with the MU proper unless it's a What If or some type of one-off.
I would have preferred DC, but I won't complain. Marvel could put some top tier artists on this if they want to. I could see them pulling from overseas for sure.

I felt the same way: initial happiness about the prospect of Conan heading home to Marvel, and then utter sadness as I realized/remembered it is now a Disney property. And with how Marvel is doing everything, I would not be surprised if they made Conan a woman. . . Regarding the AVP, Disney now owns Aliens due to Twentieth Century Fox buyout. I also really do not like the idea of crossovers, at all, unless it is purely in the name of fun (What If?, etc.). I hope they do not oversaturate with a bunch of titles; they need one or two titles —— done well. Also, do they have the rights to other REH creations, or just Conan?
