KULL ETERNAL ANNUAL 2018 I have no idea what's going on with this title. This looks like the end of Kull, for now. (W) Tom Waltz (A/CA) Luca Pizzari Robert E. Howard's legendary warrior king returns! A would-be king's quest approaches its stunning finale as Kull and his comrades take their war to Antarctica and the serpent men! It's winner take all in this final battle for the New Atlantean throne in this bloody and bullet-riddled conclusion to KULL ETERNAL! Release Date: Jun 27, 2018 7.99

They confirmed they will do issue 3 but 4 and 5 are replaced by the annual.
Shame. It actually WASN'T a bad series. The idea is that Kull was being thrown through time to various points to ensure the creation of new atlantis....that way humans would triumph over the serpent men in their final battle

If only Marvel would do SHIELD V2 #5 & #6 this way instead of 2 issues.

"What if?:Kull had fought in the far future?"

It kinda ties in with the mirror of thuzun Thune. Kull appears throughout history. Personally I thought it was rather cool. With better marketing it could have been awesome.

Also the idea of the climax of a Howardverse story taking place in the modern day.
You can do that. A final story set in the modern day where all the threads of Howards Tales (Set, Thulsa, atlantis) climax in modern day where a modern day hero defeats the forces of darkness for good.

With better art and marketing it could of worked.

Latest date on the IDW site is April 24, 2019. If it actually does come out, MAYBE the trade will be out by the summer.
I mentioned over on another board, after the experiences of Dark Horse and IDW, what possible incentive for anyone other than Marvel have to use the Kull license? Issue #3 came in at 2552 on the Diamond charts last May. Anybody think the annual's going to come in much high than that? Or the trade will reach into the 500s in preorders, let alone maybe the 700s?

If IDW eventually release the annual most comic-book shops will probably not bother ordering a copy.
Unfortunately, even in the good ol' days it was tough for Kull.

This isn't out yet? That's nuts. Hopefully this license was short term because these guys at IDW seem to be able to screw up a two car funeral.
If Kull has any chance of making a comeback it's going to have to be at Marvel.
IDW, you blew it!

What happened to this series? The annual has been removed on the Diamond Previews site and replaced by issues 4 and 5 due out in June and July respectively.

So they cancelled issue 4 & 5 from 2017, combined them to make the annual, pushed it back for a year and now they're going back to issue 4 & 5?!? Wow... Well, they should let IDW know what they're releasing, they still have the annual up on their website... (all dates have been pulled though, so it could come out at any second...or never...)
