For anyone that hasn't heard of it, since 2019 Leviathan Labs and Red Dragon have been publishing a new Conan the Cimmerian comic, in the form of a series of trade paperback graphic novels. So far they've released four volumes of The Barbarian King, a spin-off titled Salome (based on the character from "A Witch Shall Be Born") and later this year they'll be publishing another spin-off based around Valeria from "Red Nails." These are completely aside from the Marvel, Dark Horse, and Glenat/Ablaze comics, and are a touch more R-rated (more nudity, bit more gore, darker plotlines). I know they've also been translated into Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish, but not English yet. There is a review of the first volume on my blog: deepcuts.blog/2022/05/18/the-barbarian-king-1-le-spade-spezzate-2019-by-massimo-rosi-alessio-landi/Personally, I'm interested in the direction they're going - a bit more horror, a bit more Elric of Melnibone - but I know that won't be to everyone's taste.

I read the first tome on a fan translation, really promising and interesting a little edgy I will not deny but I liked it.

Not a fan of all those bleak, nihilistic, grim and gritty takes on Conan.
This is suppose to be pulpy fun and, let's be clear about it, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG ABOUT THAT!
Howard's writing is good enough. I don't need depression pills, thank you.
