I thought it might be cool to try and plot out approximately where the various African tales of Solomon Kane took place (yeah, I know REH was just sticking things where he wanted). Here's Tim Kirk's classic map to get things started:

The Assyrians conquered Egypt, so I'm assuming the city from Children of Ashur would be somewhere to the south of there. It would also fit with the Arab slavers making an appearance in the adjacent Footfalls Within.

but I once read a rumor that ancient Cimmerians helped with the conquest of Ninevah and the real Assyrians
