My actress pick for a 70's Belit, Phylis Davis. Not what comes to mind when I think of a Phyllis Davis. A handsome woman to be sure.

Yeah, her agents should have given her a more memorable screen name. I think was in a lot of in TV shows in the 70's and early 80's but not any well known leading roles.

In a 70's Conan film, John Saxon would have to be involved in some capacity.

That was the equation! Good pic selection! Cassidy probably would have served quite well as Conan back in the day. Ted Cassidy nailed the part of Lurch better than anyone, and he has been excellent in other roles, also voice overs in animation, but I just don't see him as Conan. Also, at 6 ft 9 he is a little too tall to be Conan in my opinion. I think John Wayne would have have made an excellent Conan, he has the physical presence and acting ability, I mean, John Wayne could just make a disapproving glance and it said a thousand words without him even opening up his mouth at times. Now that's true grit.

Imagining Conan's lines in John Wayne's voice is making my brain hurt.

Imagining Conan's lines in John Wayne's voice is making my brain hurt. Perhaps there is a little of that, maybe, not that I imagined Conan's voice sounding like Ted Cassidy, or even Jack Palance for that matter. Jack Palance would make an excellent Olgerd Vladislav.

Lauren Bacall as Aychichek, favorite wife of Yezdigerd. Think of a Hurrem Sultan (Roxelana) type character.
