Thanks for the kind words, everybody! They are very much appreciated. As I told Bob Byrne, there were so many other things that I would've liked to bring up, but there simply wasn't room. That's without even getting into the "Hyborian Age history/lore" aspect of the tale, which is a treasure-trove. Or how BC basically proves that Mitra actually exists in some fashion. I've said before, REH's yarns--at least the upper 50%--are almost "biblical" in that there are layers upon layers of things to discover and analyze. Those who say "you need to turn off your brain" before reading a Howard tale turned theirs off a long time ago. I'd read the "extended edition" You really should consider Von K's suggestion. Imho Deuce should write a whole series of reviews containing his insights on each of the Conan yarns and get it published. If the Hyborian Age essay were included that would be a 22 chapter tome plus introduction. More if it were supported by supplemental material and or appendices from REH's other Hyborian Age related yarns.

I think it's been a very good series, lots of great insight and love for Robert E. Howard on display.

That was great. Patrice echoing one of his observations made in his article for Glenat, which I happen to agree with, and which I feel contributes to the surreality of some of the yarns in a way that can be missed or undermined by some of the attempts to be too overly consistent or linear with Conan timelines.
Jeff, Deuce and Patrice's articles and insights made for a fine finale to this series.

Yep, definitely can't end without someone taking a whack at People of the Black Circle. Great excuse to pad it out for the rest of the month!

Thanks Hun. That's another great essay and some interesting commentary too.
