This is straight from Project Pride:
Robert E. Howard Days 2019 will happen on Friday and Saturday, June 7th and 8th, at the Robert E. Howard Museum in Cross Plains, Texas. Once again, fans from all over the world will gather to celebrate the life and legacy of the incomparable Robert E. Howard! We invite you to come and enjoy a REH weekend filled with activities, events, fellowship, conversation and education, all presented in the name of a true American – and world-renowned - author and poet!
Project Pride of Cross Plains, along with the Robert E. Howard Foundation will be your sponsors and hosts once again, with some big help from REHupa, the Robert E. Howard United Press Association. As this is Project Pride’s 30th Anniversary, we will be honoring the Cross Plains’ civic organization all weekend. Along with that “theme”, we will be celebrating the 90th Anniversary of Sword & Sorcery fiction, as created by Robert E. Howard.
Author David C. Smith will be the Howard Days 2019 Guest of Honor. Last year, Mr. Smith penned a marvelous book about REH: Robert E. Howard: A Literary Biography (Pulp Hero Press).
Again this year, Howard Days attendees will enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie felt by REH fans from all over the world! The Robert E. Howard Museum and adjoining Alla Ray Morris Pavilion are the gathering points and will be open to all (at absolutely no cost)! All of our regular activities will be in place: Tours of the REH Museum and grounds are ongoing; a Bus Tour of Cross Plains and environs takes place Friday morning; a Hot Dog Lunch, the Celebration Banquet and a honest to Texas Barbeque feast will keep you fed; numerous panels, seminars, readings and demonstrations will feed your fannish and intellectual curiosities; you can marvel at original Howard manuscripts, books and pulp magazines on display at the Cross Plains Public Library; you can acquire REH books, comics, magazines, art work, t-shirts, hats, souvenirs and collectibles in the Museum Gift Shop and at the Silent Auction that is held at the Banquet; the Robert E. Howard Foundation Press will be set up to sell true text Howard books; there will be a special REH Days postal cancellation stamp souvenir at the Cross Plains Post Office; and, we will have a small Dealers Area adjacent to the Pavilion this year. The Robert E. Howard Foundation Awards for excellence in all things Howard will be announced on Friday. Also at the Library there will be REH/Conan role-playing and board games demonstrated and played.
A seat at the Friday night Banquet is $15.00 (Project Pride, POB 534, Cross Plains, TX 76443 or Paypal at ProjPride@yahoo.com) – but every other activity at Howard Days is FREE!
We have our panels, scheduling, registration and logistics lined up to give you another great experience at Howard Days, so please stay tuned! The Howard Days blog www.howarddays.com and the Howard Days and Cross Plains Project Pride Facebook pages will give you plenty of info.
