S E Lindberg's review of the Shadow of Vengeance, part 3 For me, Scott Oden's story entry carried the issue. "Shadow of Vengeance" Ch III focuses on Octavia's perspective, ramping up the tension nicely in detailed, fluid prose. Ends with some hypnotic sorcery. Great stuff.link: www.selindberg.com/2019/03/savage-sword-3-review-by-se.htmlI agree with everything stated in that review, including the stuff said about the comic as well. So far all three chapters get a ten outta ten from me!

S E Lindberg's review of the Shadow of Vengeance, part 4www.selindberg.com/2019/04/savage-sword-of-conan-4.htmlOn the novelette front: Scott Oden's "The Shadow of Vengeance" focuses on Conan's meeting with bunch of pirates and mercenaries as he tries to unite/motivate the Brotherhood to create a harbor for all Free Peoples. Cimmerians lack political moxy, so this war council transpires as smoothly as a bunch of testosterone charged men resolving a controversial sports call at a pub. The hypnotized Octavia from the previous episode did not appear, and will likely confront Conan in the next episode.

Conan throwing insults coupled with threats of violence always brings a smile to my face. Another great chapter!

Thanks, man! Yeah, that was one of those chapters that ended up being twice the length requirement. Before editing, it was a bit over 3000 words. Took a few days, and no small measure of tears, to pare it down to 1500 words

A fascinating podcast from Rogues in the House with our Scott Oden: anchor.fm/rogues-in-the-houseIn Episode 9, author Scott Oden joins the show to discuss his work. Scott is the author of five novels, and several short stories. His Conan novella, Shadow of Vengeance, is being published as a monthly serial in Marvel's Savage Sword of Conan, and another of his Conan stories will be released with the video game, Conan Unconquered.

I could not resist temptation and read a little snippet of part 8 online - unfortunately there have been problems with the shipment of some Marvel titles to the UK this week, I should be able to get hold of a copy next week in the UK.
Anyways back to what little I did read online, I don't wanna give anything away but Conan's in big trouble and Karash Khan is a worthy adversary.

That Karash Khan didn't come to play around. He means buisness

Hopefully that had some serious Harryhausen vibes to it
