Esad Ribic will be writing and doing the art for a Conan one-shot, Conan:Exodus, due for release in August. Ribic's art is great but I've not read anything he's written before. Apparently this will be mostly a silent issue though so it'll be the art doing most of the story-telling work anyway. (pics from: Esad Ribic Writes and Draws Conan: Exodus in August)

This could be really good. Unlike some on this forum, I don't hate his art.

This looks alright from the two pages I can see. I'll be picking this up for sure.

written and illustrated by Esad Ribic cover by Esad Ribic Van Variant cover by GREG HORN
MAN VS. NATURE IN THE NEVER-BEFORE-TOLD STORY OF CONAN’S FIRST JOURNEY FROM CIMMERIA!
Long have the stories told of CONAN, who came from the frozen hills of his homeland, Cimmeria, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth in the Hyborian Age – but now you will witness the epic tale of the young barbarian’s first journey from home from visionary creator Esad Ribic!
Fifteen winters in Cimmeria have toughened the young Conan, but his greatest challenge lies ahead. Braving the elements, without food, without shelter, without weapons, Conan must learn to survive even as nature itself conspires to stop him. The snow freezes his bones. The wolves smell his blood. But if he can reach civilization, will his wounds heal…or will his troubles just begin?
With a majestic scope underscored by the completely visual narrative, don’t miss this truly special moment in Conan’s story and an unprecedented issue in Marvel Comics publication history!

Someone already mentioned this in another thread, but seeing this I cannot help but repeat it: what's up with the noses? ...It's Conan the barbarian, not the Phantom of the Opera for gods sake. This also goes for the French Conan comics unfortunately--there's hardly a nose on Conan's face even in those.

I find that this artist is not good with faces generally, just look at issue seven's cover, those women are fucking monstrosities. And Conan's face looks like ass too.

Ongoing?!? How much of this story is there really to tell? Talk about diluting your product, wow...

Damn , Conan will have more titles than the Avengers , Spidy etc. Even Ol'Marvel at the height of his popularity didn't manage that!

Everywhere I looked yesterday all the articles said ongoing. At least Marvel, in the words of Gov. William J. Lepetomane, has not take a giant leap away from their good senses...for now.

Nice I hope this is a sign of Marvel going in a new direction. This is more like what a Conan project should be.

Yes a filler for the main title , I guess giving Aaron more time on all his stuff.
