I'll give this a look to see what he does with the characters and I used to enjoy Moon Knight too. At least he has a handle on Conan. If this is to get some interest in Kane and Agnes for solo stories set in their own time period , fine!

I gotta be honest, even the old Marvel comics with Solomon Kane could not appeal to a wide enough audience beyond 6 issues. Maybe, this approach will create more interest.

If we all hold our breath and cross our fingers, maybe Conan will hit the big screen again in the next Avengers movie!

At this point, a mere 9 months since Marvel took over, I have to ask, exactly who/what is Conan anymore? An Hyborian wanderer/warrior; a present day Savage Avenger; a future (2099) whatever? Anyone able to help with an answer? Your best bet is to just stick with the main two titles, CtB and SSOC, because they never address all these goofy spin-offs. Well, at least not yet.

As time passes by, we will figure out even more how ridiculous this Marvel Conan is.
Everytime I read something positive about it here in the forum I get surprised.

I'm OK with what I read so far. I read the trades, so I'm behind everyone else. I liked some of the first Conan The Barbarian volume, but the flintlock pistol really bothered me. And, I didn't care for the look of the pirates, either. I had to check the cover to make sure I wasn't reading Pirates of the Caribbean.
I liked how Conan came across as this feral, action now, do-whatever-it-takes, butcher of men. That part they got right. But, then there were stories that, while cool on one level, were not "fit" for Conan.
When Conan breaks off the finger, then strips the bone from the finger to use as a pick to pick the lock of his manacles, my first reaction was, "Hey, that's pretty cool! Conan is resourceful--doing whatever it takes!" But, then I thought about it. Pick a lock? When has Conan ever picked a lock? Never. That's when. Not even in a pastiche--not that I can recall.
He'll bust a chain with his sword and mighty biceps, but he's not going to sit down and fiddle with a lock using a piece of finger bone. That's not his character at all.
I felt the same with the lion. On the one hand, the story was pretty cool. But, what is Conan? No. It was a bit too much fantasy-that-does-not-fit-the-Hyborian-Age.
What I'm seeing in the books (Conan the Barbarian and Savage Sword of Conan) is OK fantasy stories by people who don't really have a grasp on Conan's history or character.

The synopsis for this comic makes me want to cuddle my precious Ball Python(who I named Set)much more protectively than I normally do!
This is a more palatable crossover. The only odd man out is Moon Knight, who's inclusion is obviously an attempt to bring more people into their new Conan comics. Jim Zub has proven himself to be a more than capable Conan writer, even with shit premises like Avengers: No Road Home; he still managed to write the character relatively well. I have to say tho, the story for this comic sounds as if it were concocted by an five year old.

They should have made Moon Knight some Hyborian age dude who was Khonshu's Avatar eons before Marc Spector.
(Although I prefer to believe Marc Spector is just nuts and there is no Khonshu.)

That's a cool idea! There's a few immortal things in Marvel universe; why not Khonshu/Moon Knight? It would be interesting to see Conan interacting with them as part of the weirdness of the Hyborian age. Khonshu's no more or less weird than Yag-Kosha.

Agreed! I have the original but I'll buy the reprint! With all this crossover they need to bring Ullyses Bloodstone into the mix somewhere.
