Every Howard fan owes it to himself to at least watch the first episode of this fantastic anime/cartoon. There's nothing out there quite like is in animation or film in general. Episode one is perfection, after that the novelty does wear off a little. But it is still a fantastically unique show. There are winks and nods to Howard's stories and the inspiration is obvious, in a good way! It's also not just a visually stunning show which is clear from any of the trailers, it's very emotionally engaging and surprisingly depressing at times. I highly recommend this to everyone on the forum. Here's a clip.

I caught the first episode, good stuff! Kind of cool the characters are "Spear and Fang", nice tip of the hat to Howard I think.

The fourth episode is probably the best, most thrilling piece of animation I've ever seen. Action, suspense, weirdness. Awesome. The final episode is violent as hell, and heartbreaking, depending on how that damned cliffhanger plays out.
Bring on Season 2. And gimme a DVD or Blu-ray, with extras, STAT!

The entire show feels like a homage to Howard, particularly episode four. I had no idea ep 5 was the last episode of this season! The blu-ray will be a must buy for me.

Whoa! According to Wikipedia, the first season consists of 10 episodes, with the remaining 5 appearing in 2020 (date unspecified).

Primal is the antithesis of modern day Hollywood. It's unrestrained, not afraid to allow sad moments to linger long enough for them to seep into your soul. Not shying away from pondering upon things it presents you you with. And at other times it is disturbingly violent. There is so little that appeals to me in film nowadays, Primal is a real treat.

Genndry Tartovsky notes that the short story telling aspect, the pulp of the 20’s and 30’s was influential, notably REH and his Conan works, also mentions 70’s sci fi artwork. In some ways it looks ( from the little i have seen ) like a homage to the savage art work of Frank Frazetta where he placed primitive cultures and dinosaurs together into this one world. Will have to see it at some stage.

Someone is working on a re-boot animation series, which excites me greatly. What could they possibly do with today's animation?!

I hope it's as good, if not even better, than the original. Thanks for the word on the street.
