He seems a little upset at Marvel's rendition of the Cimmerian in this issue. As am I Tbh. In fact the story doesn't make sense. where was Champion carrying the scepter and the crown all the time?

Thankfully, there's only one more issue to go. I'm fed up of this dumb barbarian in the 21st century stuff. Why can't Marvel give him a little more intelligence? Hopefully things will improve once the main book returns in October.

Hopefully. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be so bored by a Conan comic. I'll be honest, I liked Savage avengers but they're just abusing Conan at this point, shoe-horning him everywhere they can.

Yeah, it is almost as bad as the Brian Wood days, at least we had the excellent Hour of the Dragon adaptation to make up for it back then.

Yeah, it is almost as bad as the Brian Wood days, at least we had the excellent Hour of the Dragon adaptation to make up for it back then. Well back during the time when the Brian Wood run was ongoing was when I first got into Conan. I was living in Guyana, South America at the time, where it was very hard to get your hands on comic material. Naturally, all of the Conan material I got back then was some of the B&W mags from Marvel that my dad collected way before I was even born. Now I live in New York where comics are readily available but it's kinda sad that I'd rather collect old back issues and reprints rather than the new stuff. Especially Battle for the Serpent crown. IMO this is the worst yet. Conan in the Marvel universe could have been proficient if Marvel executed it correctly and didn't attempt to exploit the character. They actually started off strong but the mini-series disappointed. Well back then we had Hour of the Dragon to make up for QotBC and now we have the Glenat adaptations to make up for this.

I have to agree with you guys on the latest issue. While the Wakanda issue felt like a Conan comic...this one didn't. The artwork was still great, but everything else just felt off.

I'm glad it is too. And the finale was so anticlimactic. Worst rendition of Conan that I've ever read tbh.
