A number of Marvel creators have been told to stop work on their titles. There are rumors floating about that Jim Zub's Conan was just added to this list.
Can anybody confirm? I'd prefer to believe this was a temporary blip, but if the powers that be had much faith in the comic you'd think the creators would be allowed to build a back-up stockpile of two or three issues before being told to go idle.

I haven't heard that, but I wouldn't be surprised. Really tough time to be in the comics business right now as a publisher, creator, and merchant. I honestly think this is the end of the comic industry as we know it. If/when it comes back I think the business model will be different. Maybe we'll get Savage Sword of Conan back as a magazine again if Marvel inks a newsstand deal.

Found this article by Rich Johnston at Bleedingcool: Yesterday, Bleeding Cool reported details on Marvel Comics' latest edict to some comic book creators to stop work on their current projects. The current situation has seen many comic book companies cease printing and publication and put projects on hold. DC Comics has, reportedly, moved some creators onto a new Batman Black And White digital comic, but that is only a handful. Marvel initially stopped work on 15-20% of titles, mostly new launches and those tied in with delayed movies, such as Black Widow and Taskmaster. Yesterday we heard that another 10-15% of titles had suffered a similar order, and affected more of the ongoing titles. We were told that certain X-Men comics were already far ahead as part of the advance Dawn of X scheduling, but books like Deadpool, currently by Kelly Thompson and Gerardo Sandoval had also been included.
Today we have learnt that affected creators include Jim Zub, author of Conan the Barbarian and a number of Empyre spinoff books, Patrick Zircher, artist on Savage Avengers, and Adam Hughes who was working on Black Widow cover. I have also been told that the Alex Ross-curated Marvel anthology series is on hold as is the ongoing Black Cat series by Jed MacKay and Nina Vakueva. The pauses are all down to the projects rather than the creators, and these are just those that I have heard. The details may be different, I am happy to add or amend to those, depending. Sounds like Marvel doesn’t plan on getting anything out until June. Getting a little back inventory wouldn’t be a bad idea but if they don’t have any major income to pay the creators, I guess they’d rather wait to restart things. The question is who’s going to be there to both buy and sell on the other side?

I am not exactly that invested in this series, but it was starting to get kind of good...so it does bum me out a bit that the wait will be so long I'll probably start to forget the events of the first two issues. If it is continued at all.

I enjoyed reading CtB, even if it was mediocre at times.

I enjoyed reading CtB, even if it was mediocre at times. I'll keep buying for now, if they want to keep publishing. But, I've got to admit. I've found the new Marvel Conan stuff so lackluster that I wouldn't be depressed at all if Marvel stopped publishing Conan stuff today. They really need to bring their A game.

It can't hold a candle to the material published decades ago, but I was still looking forward to finishing the great crucible.

Has this series been canned? No issues are scheduled for May to July.

They very sparingly announced individual issues from only a few series as of now. I think they’ll update it along the way

Well, Crom's Thunder & Lightning! I just read issue #7 of The Life and Death of Conan series (just got the second volume TPB), and I like it. I really like it. I loved the issue. I love everything about it. I like it so much, it surprises me. I like how Argos was portrayed--the armor, the landscape, the clothes. I like that something new and interesting was added--the river Khorotas and the cave it runs through, with lots of crocs (or are they alligators?) infesting the water. Very adventurous. I liked the story's tie in with the Belit mini-series (though, that series bored me to tears and is an example of the worst stuff Marvel has ever written for Conan). I loved the look of the terrain and the style of the ship.
This one, for me, was spot on. It's the best the new Marvel Conan stuff has to offer.
Let's see if the other stories in tis collection are as good.
