Just delivered from eBay is a new addition to my Robert E. Howard collection, Mayhem on Bear Creek, published by Donald M. Grant and illustrated by Tim Kirk.

These stories are hilarious. Totally goofy. Hard to believe they were written by the creator of Solomon Kane.

Howard was very versatile and these and his boxing stories have a lot of humor.

I love the Breck Elkins stories. I don't think MAYHEM ON BEAR CREEK has the account of how Breckinridge acquired his demon of a stallion, Cap'n Kidd. ("Cap'n Kidd was a big pirate a long time ago. This hoss is like him in lots of ways, partickerly in regard to morals.") No, I'm sure it doesn't, as it's not on the title page. Maybe it's in A GENT FROM BEAR CREEK. Anyway, you have fun reading ahead of you.

Yes, all the Breckenridge Elkins stories are quite entertaining.
