Definitely fancy the handbook from this one. It was reprinted a couple of years ago so you might find a copy second hand or it's available from Amazon for kindle.

Cover by Todd Mcfarlane CONAN THE BARBARIAN: ORIGINAL MARVEL YEARS VOLUME 10Written by Roy Thomas, Art by Michael Docherty, Gary Hartle & Others Description: Roy Thomas is back! The writer who made Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian one of the most popular and influential comics in Marvel history returned to close out the series' record-setting original run. With artist collaborators Mike Docherty and Gary Hartle, Thomas charted a path for Conan that took him from the shores of the Western Sea to the top of the Mount of Crom, from the desert lands fringing the Vilayet Sea to the deadly forests of the Pictish wilderness, reconnecting with the classic legacy of Howard but also bringing in contemporary additions to the Conan mythos like the Devourer of Souls, the sword-thief Isparana and Varnae, First Lord of Vampires, as well as old favorites Red Sonja and Zula! It is kind of depressing Cory's not going to get to do his planned inclusion of the SSOC issues that finish up the CTB story in one place, unless Titan subcontracts him out.

I’ve read all the volumes thus far and this one is emblematic of Marvel’s lack of direction during this era. The volume can be considered in three unequal parts. The first consists of a series of one-and-done issues apparently intended to recall some of the single-issue adventures during the Barry Windsor-Smith and early Buscema era. The plotting and prose, however, fail to capture the pulp feel of those earlier stories, making for a rather disappointing run.
The Gerry Conway issues that follow constitute a transitional, multi-issue arc that reads like an inventory tale or hastily assembled fill-in. The tone improves somewhat, presaging the largely mediocre three-issue minis penned by Thomas and others in the latter half of the 1990s.
The last portion of the volume is given over to an experimental rehash of Conan’s formative years in the context of a long-form narrative that manages to be both woefully simple and confusing.
All in all, one of the weaker, if not the weakest, volume in the series, perhaps of greatest interest for providing a strong rationale for the return of Thomas.
