Art by Christian Alzmann. The pile of rubble that these barbarians are standing on, the dark foreboding sky, and the ruins of the industrial age city in the background would suggest that this is a scene from a future post apocalypse time.

And his shield is a Manhattan manhole covering. 😁 I kept trying to work out that shield, maybe some type of roulette wheel, although I think you are closer to the mark with the manhole covering.

Thundarr! Such a great cartoon. AXA is fun in small doses. Saucy, adventurous, absurd and unpredictable. But it was published in The Sun, and it shows. I need some Axa comics! There is this likeable Barberella quality to Axa.

How can I forget one of the best post apocalypse action films in history.
Yul Brynner was 55 at the time.
THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR 1975 Yul Brynner Knife Fight Scene

I feel like everyone will be grimier post-apocalypse, not like Heston in in The Omega Man. And personally, the apocalypse bikini seems a poor choice. But hell it makes for good art.

I feel like everyone will be grimier post-apocalypse, not like Heston in in The Omega Man. And personally, the apocalypse bikini seems a poor choice. But hell it makes for good art. The idea of the temperature rising somewhat considerably seems to be something that can either be blamed on the brilliant Mad max film's from George Miller, or on the over-active imaginations of various artists and sub-par film-makers. arctic conditions and heavily clothed people seem to be in short supply when the apocalypse happens upon us! Even in the Alien-instigated genocide of humanity in lunatic/shyster religious nut L Ron Hubbard's Battlefield Earth, the main human protagonists are still going around with fairly skimpy clothing on...

I feel like those are aesthetic and not practical choices, like the bikini with partial armor seen above. Well, something to look forward to anyway.
