My personal favorite is "Pigeons from Hell" but I also really enjoyed "The Haunter of the Ring" which is more pulp and occult detective focus but its connection to the Mythos and to Conan reallt gained my favores. Give the untitled fragment on page 505 a read sometime, nice connection there tying the Hyborian Age to Von Junzt's Nameless Cults. If only REH had finished the tale-I wonder who the Stygian was in that tomb they were about to open? Perhaps Thoth-Amon , if so I assume he would go looking for his ring

Really good top, I dont consider "Shadow Kingdom" a horror story but sword and sorcery is kind of a grandfather of the modern dark fantasy so I will give it a pass.

That's a good list but the Shadow Kingdom is a strange choice for horror. Worms of the Earth I can get behind, though.
Black Stone is my personal #1.
