Hi Everyone! I'm Dark0 and this is my work about weapons in Conan's Age. Definitions are in italian: topdown they are: short sword, sword, cutlass, broadsword, saber, two handed sword. Next one is about knives and daggers. Hope you like it.

This is how I picture that poniard from Rogues in the House, somewhat late medieval stiletto like.

I'm trying to imagine an old makeshift matchlock style pistol used by Barachan pirates, although REH did mention the use of inventive contraptions such as the system of mirrors from 'Rogues in the House' used by Nabonidus as a kind of Hyborian style 'surveillance system' in his house. I did remember the character of the Barachan pirate captain Bor'aqh Sharaq who lost his hand in a fight with Conan and had some blacksmith fit him with a prosthetic appendage as a replacement, one that could be fitted with a sword, an axe or a spring-powered throwing iron, but that was from SSOC, and not REH.

The late medieval sword of the Oakeshott type XVIII looks like it would be well suited to the Hyborian Age setting, at least in my opinion. These were cut and thrust swords popularly used during the 1400’s, although blade forms of the type were used as long ago as the second century BC, and as recently as the 18th century. The Henry V sword. The practical look of the antique seems closer to what I would imagine Conan using than the somewhat heavier designs depicted in the Conan movies, although they look like they could deliver lethal cutting force.

John Buscema drew swords and axes a specific way in the comics. Not full on fantasy, but not precisely anything historic. I imagine those to be Hyborian swords.

John Buscema axe and shield Big John was so good at those I always wanted to see Conan use the Axe and shield more in the comics.

Yes, or even at times just swinging a big whopping axe in both hands with no shield.
