In the old days of Marvel's Conan line, the writers frequently adapted non-Conan stories by various writers, reworking them into Hyborian yarns. Examples were the Conan the Adventurer series adapting Clark Ashton Smith's short weird tales "The Weird of Avoosl Wuthoquaan" and "The Abominations of Yondo", an issue of SSOC featuring a Conan version of Ambrose Bierce's "The Damned Thing", plus the tale "Stalker of the Snows" in Conan the Savage #2-4, which utilized a number of concepts and characters from Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness." Are there any other stories in these genres that could be incorporated into the Conan mythos? I wouldn't mind maybe an adaptation of Lovecraft's "The Doom that Came to Sarnath", having the Cimmerian visit the eponymous city on the night of its fall.

Unfortunately I think Marvel is out of that business for now and sticking with mostly original stories, as lackluster as they’ve generally been. I’d love to see some CAS done like they used to.

Maybe tie in "Rogues in the House" with Lovecraft's "Facts Concerning the Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family?"
It could be interesting subbing out the Jermyn's for Hyborian Age counterparts and have Conan encounter the last Jermyn in a more REH way.

Wow, I didn't know there are Conan comics adapted from CAS stories out there. I always avoided Conan the Adventurer because of its gaudy 90s artwork. Might have to give it a closer look.

I wouldn't call Conan the Adventurer among Marvel's best work, but it had some interesting moments.

I thought Ernie Chan and Roy's adaptation of "The Damned Thing" was really well done in Savage Sword of Conan #227. I haven't read the original Ambrose Bierce tale, but it seems it had the bones for a nice little Conan adventure. Damn, could Ernie Chan draw a good Conan and the action scenes to go with him. This was such a great era for comics.
