I like the art on this issue, but I also found it very chaotic at times. It was sometimes difficult to see what exactly was supposed to be happening, but the small size of the panels didn't help either. It also seemed like no one proofread the issue, as there were several errors throughout. For instance, sentences had two words that are synonyms right beside one another ("They would throw hurl rocks from the cliffs..."), there was bad punctuation, and even a backwards letter or two. So far, Red Nails was much better... The art involved in each panel is detailed and very impressive but I agree with you, overall the storytelling is confusing/chaotic. Probably would have worked better if the breakdowns were a little more concise with details only to emphasise the necessary or dynamic panels. I dunno, something was not right with the storytelling in the first part of this adaptation. Hope it gets better in the next issue.

It seems that more than one of the Glenat adaptions is not a golden egg.

Anyone pick up the 2nd issue? I did, but I haven't read it yet. However, I did notice that the story will be continuing. I was concerned that they'd be cramming everything into only two issues, so I was happy to see that that isn't the case.

I flicked through the 2nd issue at the comic shop and still found the artwork in the panels too cluttered and confusing. I'll wait for the Frost-Giant's Daughter adaptation - it deserves an oversize hardback edition! It really is that good!

I agree with you about the panels being too cluttered and confusing, and the small size really doesn't help. An oversize comic book really would help a bit. I don't need glasses, and even I have some difficulty seeing what's going on. Nice! Looking forward to that adaptation then.

Read it online. It's serviceable enough but the ending is a little pat. The assault on Yimsha was great though; it really captured the visual otherworldly feel.

late to the party as usual.
I liked the art pretty well, but it seemed cramped and washed out. maybe it was due to shrinking to American comic size? I was a little baffled by some of the changes to the narrative.
Also, Iraqis?
