I bought the Kane books through the SFBC years ago, based on a friend's recommendation that Kane was the best fantasy series ever. I haven't read much as the font size is slightly small for me poor vision, but what I have read I have liked.

I've recently been trying to hunt up copies of the books, but the prices are far too high. I have a Kindle, but I don't enjoy using it TBH and would rather have books. I'll keep looking though.

Keep a lookout for the Warner paperbacks. They had a few reprints back in the day, so they are not super expensive. Be patient and you’ll find them.

Try abesbooks, I got all the Kane books on there. Some of the ones I have are even first editions. And only two of mine do not have Frank Frezzeta covers.

I use abebooks all the time, although sometimes I find a lot of books on ebay for almost no money.

No idea why they are so expensive, but there are some fairly cheap on e-bay at the moment. There are a few for under $10 (then add in shipping). www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=karl+edward+wagner+kane&_udhi=35&_sop=15I would say buy one and give it a try. If you like it, you can look for others.

The Kane books are inconsistent in quality; if your only going to get one as a trial read, make sure you get the one that is consider to generally be the best among them! I recommend Night Winds, it contains a couple of Kane short stories. I found the full length novels to be mixed bags, although Dark Crusade is pretty damn good. But I consider it a poor introduction into the Kane series, because Kane is actually not in the book that much. Death Angel's Shadow(which is short stories) is supposed to be amazing, but I have not gotten around to reading it yet!

Found this map of Kane's world online, anyone know where it comes from? That's the map from the Night Shade Books collections of the Kane novels and stories. It's fairly accurate, IMO, though the placement of a few things is speculative because of scanty textual information.

I wonder if anyone can help me with a query please?
I have been a fan of Robert E Howard since the early 1980s, specifically his Conan stories, however my query relates to another story I think he wrote, possibly about Kull.
I remember reading this story in the early 1980s and it involving the main character being hunted by a group of bounty hunters or assassins, possibly in some ruins or a ruined city, and the main character picking off his adversaries one by one.
I'm pretty sure the story was in a paperback anthology and I think the main character was Kull but I could be wrong. I'm sure it wasn't Conan.
I'd love to read the story again and have been trying to track it down via internet searches but to no avail.
If anyone can help provide the answer and knows which Robert E Howard story it is, please let me know. It would be much appreciated.
