I know that in the 90s, Marvel had plans to publish stories in their CONAN THE SAVAGE magazine following on from the end of the pastiche novel Conan of the Isles, chronicling Conan's adventures in the unknown lands west of Antillia. Only one of these stories, The Necromancers of Na'at, was published, in CTS #10. Would anyone else like to have seen more of these?

I just wanted to see what you guys thing of the Savage Sword of Conan reboot by Marvel in the mid-90s called Conan The Savage.
I personally loved it and it's a shame it had to be cancelled after just 10 issues. There were a lot of noteworthy things in this series such as:
-Alcatena's heavy inspiration from Lovecraft. -The fact that the comic was neither Colored nor B&W. It was actually tones of grey. (Similar to having a colored page and photocopying in B&W but way better). -John Buscema's final Conan story which was a sequel to the Graphic novel, "Conan of the Isles". -Great storytelling, both original and captivating. -One of the issues had a wordless story with art by Rafael Kayanan and the pages were meant to be removed and glued together to create a giant poster. -Has a return many great characters from Belit and the corsairs to the Iron Damsels(Iron maidens) to Sigurd of Vanaheim to Rune.
I want to know what others think of this comic and also if you haven't read it I'd suggest you give it a try. Gary Kwapisz art in issue 7 was an all time high.

I rejected those at the time as I was chapped about the cancellation of Savage Sword, and Conan the Savage looked too "90's".
Maybe I should track them down. They sound better than current marvel.

I have them in a box somewhere but the "90s" look puts me off so much I haven't read them yet.
If I ever get done with Savage Sword and Conan Saga, then maybe I'll dig them up...

I rejected those at the time as I was chapped about the cancellation of Savage Sword, and Conan the Savage looked too "90's". Maybe I should track them down. They sound better than current marvel. I'd suggest that as well. My local comics shop has them for 3 to 5 dollars per issue but you can probably get a good deal somewhere on ebay in fact: here's one I just found: www.ebay.com/itm/CONAN-THE-SAVAGE-2-3-5-6-9-MARVEL-1995-VF-NM-TO-NM-LOT-BARBARIAN-ACTION/184394449590?hash=item2aeec402b6:g:hzkAAOSwDO9fCaSQAlcatena's art is great, especially in issue 3. Gary Kwapisz's art in issue 7 is my personal favorite. On a different note, John Buscema's art in issue 10 looked rushed kinda. Even Roy Thomas said it was the weakest art he'd seen from John. That being said the stories are great, straightforward and action packed. There may be a few continuity errors compared to savage sword but interesting nonetheless and yes, I'd say it's better than current Marvel.
