Must have been around 74/75, my dad bought home Conan the Adventurer. About the same time I got some copies of SSOC from a local store.

Here in México the "Savage Sword" was incredible popular and like other "cuentitos" it was easy to read in peluquerías and other places, also the first and the second movies were aired a lot on the public TV network.

I dated a girl who was a huge Robert Jordan fan, and she had me read his pastichery, which I liked a lot better than Wheel of Time, which lead to me reading the original Howard.

when I was a kid my dad brought me a huge stack of conan comics, a hooker, and a bottle of shine...then he said "son these things will help you become a man and a damned good republican"

I think I have read all except possibly one of the Jordans...I liked them quite a bit but some were better than others, generally enjoyable stuff
