The recent Ablaze versions of the French Conan le Cimmérien books from Glénat have me wondering what else is out there. Here are a few things I dug up... First off are the old La Reina de la Costa Negra comics featuring Belit and a blonde Conan. Next we have Sword Studio which published quite a few Spanish books - a series of 26 issues called Conan and another series of 5 issues called The Savage Sword of Conan, plus a one-shot called Terror en la Costa Negra. There may be more, I'm not sure. Then there are a couple of Finnish books - The Grey God Passes and The Queen of the Black Coast. I've only seen English scanlations of these. Lastly there's a short Conan story called Speak found in The CBLDF Presents Liberty Annual 2010 published by Image. Anything else??

3 additions. Power Records with the comic book by Thomas and Neil Adams(1976) with an early version of the Crawler in the Mist (CB-116); A Golden Book from 1986 with Thing in the Cave by Jack C. Harris and Dan Adkins, an alternate version of Thing in the Crypt (CB-92); and by SQ Productions (1992) a positively beautiful adaption of the REH poem Sea Woman by Craig Hamilton--not to be missed!!!

Oh yeah, one other thing, while not Conan (of course, neither is Grey God Passes) is the chapbook Red Blades of Black Cathay by Real Free Press (publisher), Amsterdam, adapted by El Gringo (aka E. A. Fischer)

The really interesting thing about the 26 Sword Studio Conan's is that they actually fit into continuity with RT's stories in the spaces between specific Marvel issues. They're quality in both story and art. Marvel could/should have done the same with their second licensing.

Thanks for the additions, some are new to me.
Marvel reprinted the Power Records story in CtB 116 so I didn't mention that one.
I forgot about the Golden Book. I even have a copy. Wish there were more.
I haven't read any of the Sword Studio books - I had no idea they fit into RT's continuity. Cool!

And if you can find the SQ Productions portfolio of Conan: Sea Woman within your budget, grab it. It is arguably the best art of any work done on Conan, including BWS.

Wait so these are original stories? I was under the impression that it was some sort of reprint. I should've figured. I have a Conan art portfolio from SQ Productions called "Conan the Cruel" but I've never heard of the sea woman one. I'll try tracking it down.

Yup, the Sword Studio stories were original.
The Sea Woman portfolio is in color with 5 plates. Think of the first as a cover, the rest have one large image (think of a splash), with smaller images of sequential art following along with the poem written in dialogue boxes. It is absolutely brilliant!

I did some research and someone over on a Spanish forum posted a download link for the 26 sword studio issues. They're pretty short reads honestly but the art looks good from what I can tell. I'm putting the download link here as well for anyone interested: uploaded.net/file/mdcwbxr7

You're right, most are short, but they fill in some blanks, like how Conan met Natala before Slithering Shadow. I found all this years ago on the now defunct Crom forum (think that was the forum's name)..

Hmm. I was working on translating the Glenat titles but since Ablaze is doing that right now I may translate these instead. Like a fun little weekend project.

Benito Gallego's art looks a lot like Buscema's actually.

BG sometimes looks more like Big John than Big John did. If Marvel hired Gallego and took Sword Studio's attitude with regard to Conan's chronology, the 2nd licensing of Conan would have been much better.
