We finally get a King Conan Omnibus sometime next summer. Omar also announces the 8th volume of CTB!

King Conan...both covers look awesome and I have had the old collections that are oop on my wishlist for a long time. Never read it, but man, this makes me happy. How do you guy's rate this run?

From what I remember, after the 8 issues of adaptations, the King Conan run was pretty good. It lost a little way after the name change, but eventually ended on somewhat of a good note.
The thing I thought was interesting is #5-8, the Conan the Avenger adaptation, was originally meant for the CTB annuals. This may explain why 1980 had no annual, it was being repurposed. But did Roy and Big John have all 4 double size issues ready to be published down the line, or just one or two then finished it up as they needed it for KC?

I have been spending a little too much on comics and in this economy and what's likely to come, I will need to cut more than an omnibus or two each month. |
