Watch the details flow forth about this while we get no updates on the Netflix show.

For some reason when I first saw the title of this thread my brain read it as 'She in Conan' ie the influence of H R Haggard's She on REH's Conan yarns.

On the bright side, if this is allowed to go through then could someone in France do a faithful French language film without being challenged by Conan Properties? Or maybe this falls under some sort of satire or parody provision which may be permitted under copyright law?
France is where Glenat publishes Le Cimmerian, so public domain is different there.

They'll still try to shut it down like they did with the Indian, "Iron Shadows" film.
I hope this does get through, just so it sets a precedent and other people can start creating Conan movies.
The Eastern European studios could really do something cool, I think. The same people that did "The Last Warrior", "Viking", "The Duellist", "The Northman", etc..

That will turn out to be a pretty crazy movie probably, considering the director's previous films and his Mubi-Quote: "I capture the onirism and the magical realism.” Probably not what this forum likes to see and apparently some kind of gender bent stuff but I am looking forward to it anyway. Also a great sign for future films if this gets through.

I am incredulous that this is being made. Cannot say that I approve of such things. Although obviously this actually isn't a Conan movie, so I don't care what they do with it. I'll give it a watch out of curiosity if it gets released.

Yea, I’ll watch it just cause it’s attached to Conan. Kind of expecting it to be good and maybe seductive, but it’s not faithful. Sad that this is the best adaption we have currently. Lol Wait there are automobiles in the second clip. Looks like a twist on the post-apocalyptic Oliver Stone script for Conan The Barbarian 1982AD!

MOVIE REVIEW (CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2023): ‘SHE IS CONANN’ MAY BE A NEW CULT CLASSIC With his latest picture, She is Conann, French filmmaker Bertrand Mandico gender -flips Robert E. Howard’s creation, Conan the Barbarian, to create a gory and innovative take on the mythic tale. While it may be an endurance test for some, due to the iconoclast’s inclination toward provocation, the brutal film will be a delicious cinematic treat for those willing to embrace its chaotic nature. “I’ll show you barbarism. Let the show commence!” insessionfilm.com/movie-review-cannes-film-festival-2023-she-is-conann/
