Oh dear the art doesn't look much better than Marvel's series. Er,"Rising from a watery grave" does the writer not know Conan set the ship on fire for a Viking type funeral. *Sigh* Isn't that actually referring to that funeral? I mean that is a kind of watery grave after all.
Overall I don't think this will be that bad. I agree that it would have made more sense to put the story before Bêlit met Conan and died but maybe there will be a reason for it.
Is there any info on how many issues are planned? Or will it be an ongoing series (which would surprise me)?

Haven't seen any news on how many issues. I guess someone will have to re-hydrate her ashes , where's Batman when we need him LOL.

Notice they use "Hyperborea" in the solicit. They are fighting their way across Hyperborea.... Hyborian Age must not be public domain. Or the person writing the copy made a typo. This looks like a Dynamite cheesecake book. Belit is alive and back from the dead? Wow. I think someone at Ablaze rolled out of bed and figured they would take a chance and publish a sword and sorcery version of Betty and Veronica with cheesecake art.

They're reprinting the essay and they haven't been in the heavy license paying category so it must be or they found a way around it. But Hyperborea sure is a LONG way to go for both of them.

It's possible the "Hyperborea" reference is an accident on someone's part. Over the years I've seen a number of mistaken "Conan was a barbarian who lived in Hyperborea" or "the Hyperborean Age".
Or maybe Belit and Valeria are off doing some piracy in landlocked Hyperborea. Possibly with assistance from the Nemedian Navy.

Or maybe Belit and Valeria are off doing some piracy in landlocked Hyperborea. Possibly with assistance from the Nemedian Navy. Yeah I'm thinking this could be a typo on the copy writer's part. I remember there being some debate over calling Conan's world/era Hyboria a long time ago, and you see a lot of people mixing up Hyboria and Hyperborea, etc... However, I remember reading somewhere that when Dynamite first started publishing the Red Sonja comics they licensed the Hyborian Age setting from Cabinet. Johnny mentions Ablaze publishing the essay and it appears it is in the public domain in Gutenberg's eyes (USA, not Australia, even): www.gutenberg.org/files/42182/42182-h/42182-h.htmUsing the Sherlock Holmes rule (I'm not a lawyer, just an amateur that tries to interpret the court rulings/laws, so don't take this as legal advice) of elements in a public domain story being fair game, anything this essay covers would be public domain. Perhaps the issue is that Cabinet has TRADEMARKED Hyborian Age and Hyboria, so they can't use it in copy and advertising. That might be it.

I have a feeling this series was made for shipping…and I don’t mean boats ;-)

Or: maybe you won't have to ship. It will all just be over the top, err, wait no——it is not over the top anymore. It is norm, it is 'woke' [shrug].

How is this comic 'woke' to you? No signals really.

Man idk how to feel about this... Ablaze should probably just work double time on the Glenat translations. There's still a long way to go. But I'm gonna still give this a read.
