Hi, first time posting here...A ways back I used to post on The REH Forum at Conan.com. Anyway, I'm glad to see these boards have such active discussion! For my part, I'm a huge fan of the current King Conan. I haven't read, or been interested in, the other Dark Horse Conan titles for years. Its a shame too because I'm missing out on the Two Gun Bob strips. Hey there, Matt, I remember you from the old forum. Good to see you around! Yeah, the Two Gun Bob strips have always been consistently good throughout, and I'm happy to see that they're still going strong. The Two Gun Bob strips by Jim and Ruth were what made me keep buying Wood's Conan: The Barbarian series.

It's agonizing how long the strip has been running and there's still no collected volume. Dark Horse used to say they needed a more substantial collection, but that's was years ago. Hey, back to King, does anyone know if the creative team is having their final hoorah? Are they going to do anything else, Conan related or not?

Giorello told me about a few weeks ago that it was uncertain. I think they're waiting for final sales results. If it stays above 6000 I think we'll get another

They absolutely do need to collect the Two Gun Bob strips. A cool way to do it would be by the dates of the letters.
I hope this does well enough for them to do more, especially the kind we've speculated over on the other thread. Unfortunately I just don't get to the store often enough to get these so they count.

It could actually follow right from this mini, with Pramis asking about the Picts (either before or after, depending on how this mini ends)

I think it would be great if Truman and Giorello carry on with King Conan.
I have a feeling that under Truman, Conan would abdicate and sail west. Truman has more or less hinted that's one possible direction from the 1st issue. Conan says to crassus
'It's not fishing that I have in mind, you sly dog. In my time I've gazed upon the length and breadth of the known world. But men say that west, across the ocean, other worlds lie waiting. I will see them.'
Conan concludes in the next panel,
'Aye Crassus, I swear to you-- my bones won't be buried here!'

Dark Horse should get in touch with Manly Wade Wellman's estate and license the Shonokins (http://www.manlywadewellman.com/Wellbeast.htm) for Conan to fight once he reaches North America

Dark Horse used to say they needed a more substantial collection, but that's was years ago. Agreed - I was thinking the same thing. Like johnnypt suggested, a chronological collection with the dates of the letters would be ideal. DH certainly has an impressive collection of those strips now.

Picked this up today, my comic shop ordered me a copy of this and Conan: The Avenger #23, thankfully.
Very impressed with this issue. I don't think I've ever seen a more attractive Pict than Nai. She's simply gorgeous the way Giorello portrays her.
This was a pretty solid issue. A nice battle scene in the Pictish Wilderness, sorcery (with a little Lovecraftian Gods thrown in), and a bad ass comrade for King Conan. Kull fans should be pleased with the lore in this issue, especially.
It's a shame this is only a 4 issue mini, as it feels like we're just getting warmed up and that's it after the next issue. I hope the sale stay steady enough for us to get more Giorello and Truman for years to come, because nobody does Conan in the comics like these guys. Nobody.

I dug the issue. Great art and Truman has done well expanding a story fragment into something meatier.
One thing confuses me... why hasn't Nai aged. Is it mentioned that her youthful appearance is part of her sorcery? Conan, who hasn't seen her in decades, doesn't seem to flinch at the incongruity.

I agree with you guys - great issue! Nai is indeed a very lovely Pict, as Jason says...not to mention certain panels depicting Kwarada in various states of undress. Yeah, I wish this was a six issue arc, as it does seem like things are just getting heated up. I hope the last issue doesn't feel too rushed. I dug the issue. Is it mentioned that her youthful appearance is part of her sorcery? Conan, who hasn't seen her in decades, doesn't seem to flinch at the incongruity. I'm assuming her sorcery is keeping her from aging. Kwarada mentions that Nai is old and her magic is powerful, so she may have been old even when Conan first met her so many years before.

Finally read the newest issue of King Conan. I hope the letter from Villarrubia in the lettercol means they're due to keep going on more Conan. This recent issue was wonderful.

I have to agree with you, this mini series needs at least 2 more issues. Great work by Truman and Giorello, as usual.
