Yes folks, now that a lot of Robert E. Howard's works are in the Public Domain and you know what that means: anybody can slap a cover on a downloaded text of one of his stories and sell it. Take a look at some of these beauties recently showcased at Lousy Book Covers (great site, BTW):
Well, that certainly is Robert E. Howard, all right, as well as some other people including, inexplicably, H. P. Lovecraft. No shadows of any vultures, or Siege of Vienna though. And certainly no Red Sonya of Rogatino.
And this is just woeful. Not only is the image inappropriate, but the title is wrong and what the holy hell is Lovecraft doing listed as the author?
As someone mentions in the comments, the picture of "Solomon Kane" is taken from the Classics Illustrated version of The Count of Monte Cristo. The picture on the right . . . I want to say it's from Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon?
At least there's nothing quite as awful as that Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar cover I saw a few years ago that showed grain silos on the prairie.
Yet.

At least the image on the right in that Solomon Kane vs Conan cover is legit. It's from an Weird Tales interior illustration of Conan and Valeria meeting Olmec from Red Nails (Sorry for being pedantic!)
