Will check that out Von K, kinda in the comic style tradition of Frank Frazetta and John Buscema. I remember seeing his work years ago in the short lived Frank Frazetta illustrated.

Interesting. Never pictured Conan as a zombie.

Interesting. Never pictured Conan as a zombie. Nor did I until I came across the pic. Marvel is doing all sorts of crazy stuff with Conan these days, they should have a series where he is resurrected as a zombie centuries after his death, turns against the mage that brought him back to unlife, and becomes this sort of undead barbarian hero in the final years of the Hyborian age.

I wasn’t sure in which thread to stick this one in, didn't find anything related to feudal Japan so I included it here, pic included of course. The first non Japanese Samurai was of African descent and became a friend of the famous Daimyo, Oda Nobunaga ( 16th century Japan ). 'Yasuke: The mysterious African samurai' www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-48542673Chadwick Boseman will be playing Yasuke in a new movie, the first African samurai to swing a sword in Japan.

I found a copy of Yasuke: The true story of the legendary African Samurai by Thomas Lockley & Geoffrey Girard at Foyles bookstore in London. I was kinda tempted but had just got rid of a few books and comics at home so I did not pick it up - still got so much to read out of the remaining books.

Did an online check at my local library and found a copy that they could order in from some other branch. Put a holding on the book. Thanks. I remember watching Afro Samurai some years back, it may have been ( very loosely ) influenced by the real history of the actual African Samurai.

I was looking at some info on prehistoric hunters when I came across this image of the Prehistoric Jomon of Japan who inhabited the archipelago between 16,000 and 2400 years ago. The Jomon lived in the colder islands of the north, and in this depiction they are bringing down a wild boar with the help of trained dogs. What struck me is that it kinda reminded me of Savage Sword of Conan 132, titled story ‘Master of the Broadsword’ where Conan tracked a Khitan bear in the eastern highlands and became embroiled in a conflict between feudal overlords and demons. Along the way he is also runs into an old mentor. The tribesmen had an ancient Japanese look to them.
