Author and REH scholar, Marc Cerasini, pointed out to me that Garrison Keillor would give a birthday shoutout to REH on his daily "Writer's Almanac" program every few years. I have to say I was surprised, but good on Garrison. Here's one example from Howard's centennial year: writersalmanac.publicradio.org/index.php?date=2006/01/22

There is something of dark gaiety in Howard that I think you can trace in many other pulps and comics. To do so may expand the horizon. Not that I've anything against pure s&s, just that there's room for free-ranging ideas that have no real restrictions. There is only one restriction you'll find on the front page of rehsongcycle.com/

Very limited edition beers from Mark Finn's book launch party for Blood & Thunder at the 2006 WFC. I got there late, but did manage to snag and drink one. Pretty good.
